Happy Thanksgiving Brevard ! Here's a historical tidbit you can share around the table today. The Kentucky Military Institute had it's winter home right here in sunny Eau Gallie from 1907 until it suffered a familiar fate to many early structures in the area and burnt down in 1921. Originally a hotel, the area that it stood on was actually its own town for a short period, known as Sarno, though trials and tribulations took their toll quickly.

The area today is residential, but still stands on the south bank of the Eau Gallie River, opposite the Rivermont Estates neighborhood on the north bank, and just north of the water plant off Sarno Rd.

Enjoy the holiday !!
