Good Afternoon Friday...Here's a lighter one to get you into the weekend ! Here's our very own Historic Downtown Melbourne from days past...late 50's, early 60's? Anyone narrow down the time frame by the cars ? We have a few different views here, the first looking to the northwest down New Haven Ave., just west of the railroad tracks showing some of the great old facades and signs from Melbourne's business district . What's interesting here is New Haven appears to be one-way (east only) by the direction of all the parked cars. Was Strawbridge Ave. only westbound at this point ?

Second shot is standing in the street from almost the same point, looking straight west down New Haven Ave. Here we seem to be back to two-way traffic flow... Imagine trying to parallel park some of those old boats !! Parking can be tough downtown today, but let's all be thankful the younger folk out there don't have to parallel park !!

Finally, we have a recent shot from about the same point - certainly a lot greener !!
